For the first time the young colt noticed The flicka. He looked at her crossly. Who was she? She looked to be about as old as he, maybe older. But he was more interested in the fact tha up until now he had only seen others from afar, and here was a filly standing right before him and his mother...

She spotted the similar creature... Interesting. She'd never encountered another foal. Hi? She wasn't sure what else to say.

He stared at her for a moment... "h-hi" He finally managed to stammer. He was scared, but not of her, just alittle frightnened by levy.

He stood stock still, his bunched muscles keeping him from sudden movement that might frighten them. He still sensed some mistrust from the faen, but he did not press further. He did not understand her fear, but it was not his place to extract the source from her. He watched the meeting of the young ones with fatherly vigilance, ready to thrust his curved mug between them if a squabble ensued. He knew that with a loud snort he could easily frighten the colt away from harming his protege. Yet he did not want to ruin her chances of friendship, so he stayed his action and waited to see if his help was needed.

Who are you? She was quite curious... Was he afraid of her? She didn't know for sure. She smiled, lunging foward, front end hitting the sand. He back end stuck straight into the air.

He jumped back slightly in surprise, but stepped back froeward curiously. "I'm.... " He trailed off looking to his mother again. He hadn't really thoguht much about his name. Thgouh he knew he had one, he had never spoken it to anyone, so he hadn't remembered it.
"Ramsses." She spoke softly for them all to hear, but weary of any others lurking in the bushs. "His name is Ramsses, and I am Cherokee...." But that was all she spoke of her name. Until she had their full trust she did not want to put them at any risk... Not if she could help it.
The stony colt nodded. "Yep, I'm Ramsses. Who are you?" He asked forgetting slightly his fear of levy, but still weary of him as his nother of eavsdroppers(?).

Oh, nice name! I'm Plymouth. This was the first time she'd spoken her name. She stood upright, and continued. My mommy and daddy... Well... I can't find 'em, but Levy has taken good care of me. He saved me! She had no worry at the moment, happy she could speak with the colt.

The colt smiled for the first time in awhile. She was a fun person! "I never met my daddy, but my mommy has been with me. She's taken me alllll over the place. She said she's searching, but i dont know what for. I think it has somethign to do with my ev-" But he was cut off by his mom. "Thats quite enough Ramsses." Her voice was stern, but Ramsses only shrugged. "How come you can't find your mommy and daddy?" He asked changing the subject.
Cherokee sighed in releif. She had managed to keep it quiet so far. Perhaps later Levy might learn the truth but for now That was all they coudl know.

The corners of his tainted kissers curled upwards in a grin at Plymouth's innocent energy. He cast a questioning look to the faen dubbed Cherokee, but he did not press the matter whilst the younguns were there.

Wow! That's awesome! I've only been in a big forest and then here. They hid me in a thicket than ran away... Mommy said the two-leggeds were coming... Whatever that means.

Ramsses looked in awe. "Did you see them? My mom used to run away from them, and she topld me a coupole of stories, but I'v never seen them! WOW! It must have been so cool!" Cherokee smiled. He was an enthusiastic colt, that was for sure. She felt comfortable, and for a few seconds it didnt matter if the evil one came or not. For she knew she had at least done somethign right in life. And the proof was before her eyes. Though his dark father had abandoned them, Cherokee knew it woudl all turn out ok. She didnt know how or why, she just knew it deep in her heart.
Silently, as she had become rather stealthy, she slipped away from the talking foals and Levy, and melted into the night as best as she could. Thoguh a small mist liek form surrounded her due to her brighter color, she stepped away from them. She knew nothing bad was too happen for now. Quietly she walked to the waters edge and stopped. The full moon shown down upon her, and reflected in the brown pools sunk into her facade. Delicate auds took in the sounds around her: The lapping of the waves as she reached the sands, the whistle of the sea winds as she passed her by, and the soft distant chattering of the foals behind her closer to the forest. Her nares flared taking in the seas salty air. It smelt refreshing and alittle over whelming. But the small dots of light the surrounded the large ball in the sky were what caught her eye. She loved the stars Her mother had too. They brought comfort to her, as she hoped they someday would for Ramsses too. But for now, They relaxed her, and helped her take down the brick wall she had been building for years on end.

Leviathan smiled down upon the two conversing foals, though his peripherals detected the departure of the faen. Was this his chance to learn what had struck such fear into her? Courtesy and politeness were hard for him, though he reeked of subtleties. His charred pillars carried him in lazy pursuit, his harks still trained upon the cacophony of the chatter he was briefly leaving behind.
He spotted the faen before the sea's lapping edge, its salty stench the same that had remained fused into his pores for most of his rough life. He let out a low whicker from a distance, so she would be aware of his approach before he drew any nearer. The reflection of the sky-bound pinpoints of light meant little to him, he had spent too little time in these lands for them to have become familiar. He had spent so much time in foreign lands that to recognize anything was a shock. Perhaps now his ill-fated travels borne of his curse would cease. Perhaps he would be able to stay.
His concerned gaze was mirrored on the rippling surface of the oceanic shallows, his mahogany-hued oculars being perfect windows for baring his thoughts, feelings and even his soul when he so chose.

Plymouth didn't notice the stallion and fea walk off.
I did see the two-leggeds... Her voice grew sad as she continued her speach. The past haunted her young, young life... It'd been so horrid.
Mommy and Daddy told me to hide, to stay out of the way of the two-leggeds. Daddy went to go look, and Mommy stayed behind with me. I heard shouting, in a strange language. Then, Mommy told me to stay where I was, and to take care of myself if she didn't return. I heard her scream as she went to go look for Daddy... I waited, and I heard both of them neighing. Then, I heard two booms, and the neighing stopped. I kept hidden, and three of the two-leggeds searched through the forest on other horses' backs, brown vines on there sides, and the things that made the booms... I hid, but the one horse saw me. He snorted, and he reared, and I heard the men shout. I got up and ran, but they chased me. Yet, I found a small bush and I hid there. They never found me.

Ramsses looked at Plymouth in awe. "WOW! That musta been scary, huh? I can't believed you got away, that is soo cool. You musta been running REALLY fast!" He had seemed to have already forgotten his earlier fright. He had never had a friend before! He hadn't noticed his mother and Levy wander off, as he continued to talk. "My mommy said that she was captured once by two-leggeds, but she got away" He grinned widely.
Cherokee only flinched at his call, and waited for him to come closer. "I suppose you'v come for the truth..." She spoke softly. Unwilling to deture the nights air with a rough voice. But her orbs never left the star studed sky above. A single star glinted brighter than the rest. It was the star she had promised upon the night Ramsses was born. Her promise had been to find him somewhere safe to dwell out of the hands of the 'evil one'. And being a mare of her word, she intended to keep her promises... ALL of them. For was it not her duty? Had her parents not named her well enough? Cherokee Promise, A word she left unsaid. Slowly and softly she removed her gaze from the stars and fixed it on Levy. Her gentle hazel orbs glinting lightly, and the usually rigid lines of tenseness left her. There was no reason to fear... yet.

A gentle sympathetic grin passed over his princely facade. He knew what needed to come next. He would have to learn her secret, and that would require prompting. His larynx trembled to life as his baritone vocals awoke and spilled forth another artful stanza in lowered tones.
I need to know what ails you, what is your fear? You have my protection while you remain here, But I cannot say nothing and let silence reign. Tell me your past, your story, why your bear this pain.
He kept his mahogany gaze trained on her as his pricked harks awaited a reply.
