A gentle breeze blew over the land as usual. Cherokee stood upon a hill watching the lands. They were such a beautiful place. Sometimes it was alive with horses, and others it was silent and beautiful. The meadow grass billowed gently, the smell of sea far off floated on the breeze, and the trickle of water from the creek calmed everything. It was so peaceful. The dappled mare sighed contentedly. She was glad she had taken today to relax. Ramsses was back in Levithians land with Plymouth playing, and Levy was watching over them. The days had passed since her and Ramsses had arrived that night, and no sign of nightmare had come. it was only now that she could relax and let go of her fears of Nightmare. She hoped to maybe be able to stay in Levy's land, but she would never do that without him asking her to. She just couldn't bare to pull Ramsses away from his first friend like they might have had too. And it was because of this that she was here now alone. Miles from the lands and her son grazing and dozing in the sun.
Cherokee raised her dial as a breeze blew into her her. It was relaxing, as if blowing away all of her worries. Thoguh with a breath of the air all that was taken away. It couldn't be... No way was it true?!?! She gazed around in fear. And now she truly had reason to be fearfull. For she had scented her in the lands. She craned her neck begging her eyes not to see what was truly there, but it was too late she had seen Nightmare.
The Dark grey banshee stood in the shadows of the forest opposite the from her. With pin pointed eyes she searched over the valley not seeing anythign. Where were the wolfs or even other horses... anything!!! Disturbed Ngihtmares ivory tail swished in irritation. how could she take her anger out if there was ntohgin to fight. She stood fumming pawing the ground. With a growl of irritation she rose on hind pillars and slashed the air threateningly.
Cherokee gasped and shied away even though Nightmare was on the other side of the large oasis. She still feared her, and would never be comfortable in her presence. It was that move that caused Nightmare to notice the equine. Thoguh she couldn't tell who it was she wanted to kill it. "YOU!" She shouted out angrily.
Time to go thoguht Cherokee. She turned tail and fled the spot she had stood. Nightmare following thoguh still extremly far away. She wanted to kill who ever it was. And it was this running that brought the scent of her long awaited foe to her nares. Outrage met Nightmares gaze and she screamed in anger. "CHEROKEE!" But Cherokee had no intentions of stopping she increased her speed and easily out ran Nightmare. Thoguh she had no time to waste now. Nihtmare knew they were here, she didn't know where, but Cherokee knew she wouldn't rest until Cherokee was dead....
