Kerosene galloped onto the dry land. He stopped and inspected it... not what he had in mind, but it would do. He reared into the air, thrashing out against the sky. Screaming a cry that made the little critters around him scatter, he claimed this land.

Lakota, just recently escaping her first heard, was apon the lands, far from Dark Horizon, the stallion whom disturbed her. She hadn't known why. But she was gone from that place. She heard Kerosene's call, and screamed back in response. She knew he was a Dark. She could sense it within his callings. Though it may be foolish to try as a Light, she was going to see what this stallion was like.

He screamed and reared when he heard this call. It was a light mare. He snorted and laughed to himself. She would be his. He would not let her go. He needed a queen, even if that queen was light.

She screamed back in return, quite chillingly, too. She half-reared, snorting a bit.

He galloped up to her, and skidded to a stop. Her beauty captivated him. He pawed at the sand. What is your name?

He pawed at the sand and sent some flying. It would be Kerosene. And hello Lakota. He may have been dark blooded, but he was a stag who would respect mares, so he bowed low to her, his knees touching the sand, his nostils blowly the sand away.

Interesting name. She bowed a bit. Though Light, she had a few tricks up her own sleeve. Many considered her Dark at first glance, when she is not paying attention. Even she wondered if she was a Light. These times confused her with her sides...

He looked at her. Would you like something to drink?

He lead her to a little water hole. He stood next to her and drank himself.

She drank deeply, avoiding her manners for a moment. She hadn't a drop of water in two days.

He wanted to say something rude about her drinking all his water, but manners held the words back.

She looked up at him, and, in seeing the slight bit of anger on his eyes, she apologized. I am sorry, Kerosene. I know I should have really asked first... She felt bad. She avoided his eyes so not to see the anger.

He looked at her. I am not angry, I offered it to you. You are a mare and I am a stallion. It was a gift from me to you and this desert is punishing to all
